Emergency Snake Identification
Know what you're dealing with — fast.
Saw a snake but not sure if it's venomous? Don't guess. Our technicians provide fast, accurate snake identification throughout Northeast Florida — in person or by photo — so you know exactly what you're dealing with and what to do next.
Florida's Venomous Snakes
Florida has six venomous snake species: the Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake, Timber Rattlesnake, Dusky Pygmy Rattlesnake, Eastern Coral Snake, Florida Cottonmouth (Water Moccasin), and Southern Copperhead. Several harmless species are commonly mistaken for venomous ones — including the banded water snake (often confused with a cottonmouth) and the scarlet kingsnake (often confused with a coral snake).
Why Accurate ID Matters
Misidentifying a snake can be dangerous in both directions. Treating a harmless snake as venomous leads to unnecessary fear and sometimes the killing of beneficial species. Treating a venomous snake as harmless can result in a dangerous bite. Professional identification removes the guesswork.
Photo Identification
If the snake has moved on, send us a clear photo. Our technicians can identify most Florida snake species from a good photograph. Text or email your photo and we'll respond with a species ID and recommended next steps — usually within minutes.
