Non-venomousThe most common snake found inside homes at Jacksonville Beach. Solid black, 4 to 6 feet. Follows rodents into attics and wall voids. Completely harmless but should be removed and excluded.
Black Racer
Non-venomousFast-moving, slender, solid black. Very common throughout the Beaches communities. Frequently found in garages and yards. Will bite defensively if cornered.
Eastern Coachwhip
Non-venomousLong, slender, tan to dark brown. More common in the sandy upland and dune areas of the barrier island than inland. Fast-moving and alert. Completely harmless.
